Trying to Sleep

For the lazy reader:  I will no longer cater to you.  Read on.

The other day some friends of mine were talking about their experience of trying to sleep while someone is snoring loudly in the same room.  One of them said that he was so angry, he threw things.  The other said that it was so funny, he sat up in bed laughing.  And then I wondered — is there middle ground in this scenario?  If so, it probably means you would be sleeping.
