Wishful Thinking

Why can’t it be like the good ol’ days?  As far as I know, back in golden times, you could only get addicted to drugs and alcohol.  If you go back farther, I guess it was just alcohol.  But today, people are getting addicted to lots of stuff: food, television, video games, bungee jumping, robbing banks — to name a few.  What has changed within us as human beings that makes us so vulnerable to being addicted to so many things?  Can’t we just go back to the way things were?  Drugs and alcohol?  Maybe just alcohol?  That way, no one gets hurt.  I mean, who has ever been hurt because of alcohol?

Who has been hurt by alcohol? Just ask the families who have had a family member killed by a drunk driver. REALLY, I think you know the answer! Hope that answers your question Kev!

Just to be clear, I am aware of the misuse of alcohol and the calamity it brings about — it was my point. Just with a twist of warped humor.
